I have a S.S. 338 WM with open sights and a blue 35 whelen also with open sights.
I enjoy them both...

I finally got this rifle to the range yesterday. I like it. With a good scope and a trigger job it will be a very good working rifle. I'm confident it'll shoot 1" or less consistently. It liked the Federal Fusion I was shooting yesterday. Hand loads should be zippity doodah. As for the comments I've seen that the Zytel stocked rifles seemed to have more felt recoil, I didn't find that to be the case. It was soft shooting. The bottom line is that I like it. It may be the most consistent Ruger I've owned.

Nice find... I've had two of the 7.62x39s for a long time..one standard rifle and one light 20". Both are very very accurate.

A few years ago I bought a Ruger Frontier in .308. Ken (firearms44) traded a BP to me for a new model synthetic stock. It is much better to shoot than the kiddie stock that came on it...

Bought the Light Rifle from a friend...first three shot with Lapua ammo..

This one was a friend who lives in Arizona...it also is a great shooter...

.358 Frontier with a newer style stock and a .308 with a BP..

Glad you are happy with yours...

Bob, that's exactly how this one wants to shoot.

Yes!! And sell it to me.

My first of these rifles is in 280 also, an All Weather. Been through at least 20 various 280's. Won't ever let this one go.
