Hi Tony, I'm no Africa or Lion expert whatsoever, but try to keep up on things of that nature through Conservation Force and SCI. My take is that Trump is going to have his hands full for a few years so if and when he gets around to changing US Wildlife import regulations is anyone's guess.
The bigger issue as I see it is that Lion hunting opportunities seem to be getting fewer and fewer every year and more expensive, also. Therefore, if I was you and could swing the hunt now, I'd do it. Who knows? The international mindset could change on a dime, say with another Cecil incident, and they could pull the plug on lion hunting for good. Do it now if you can.
