I didn't think D2 was a steel used in forging. Was looking for a bigger knife and like the lines of this Polish made knife.

I don't see where they show or specifically say they are forging the D2, but I could be missing something.

Sounds like a fair price for a decent product.

There was a company a few years back that said they were cold forging blade steel by rolling/pressing with ball bearings. Don't remember companys name, but the "cutting edge" technology sounded cool---if true.

Forging in makers mark, so it seems.

Cool knife.....I don't normally care for "bushcraft" style knives but there's something about the rustic look of that one....

Yeah, I see where it looks like they heated the area for the makers mark, but I would be slow to make it sound like the blade was processed by forging.

I have one coming my way. Not sure this one is big enough to be considered bushcraft. Since moving from Idaho I've been bring my deer out whole and wanted a bigger knife for splitting the brisket. Weight isn't the issue it was before, it's easier going here in the Black Hills.

Yea.....a foot long seems like a pretty big knife to me but I'm not exactly what qualifies a knife to be considered "bushcraft worthy" .....cool knife though and it's hard to go wrong with D2....keep us posted....

I see a lot folks miss-using the term forge or forging in their descriptions and or names. Fiddleback Forge comes to mind. Although they do make a good knife, none are forged as far as I know.

OK, I've used this bad boy several times. I've actually somewhat abused it given its low cost and being called a "Survival" knife. Batoning, chopping wood, chopping deer pelvis, and a little dirt digging. I'm really impressed, this is a well made steel, holds an edge on pare with my other customs. No signs of chipping. The large Micarta handle stays grippy even when covered in blood. With an OAL of 11 inches and 5 1/2 cutting, edge, 0.200 thick, it is my largest knife.

For $84 you too can have one at your door. Google up Varms, they make lots of models. Shows them hand grinding but I wonder if this isn't a machine ground blade. I did attempt ordering one directly from Poland because I wanted different handle material but it didn't work out so I ordered off of eBay.
