What can and whats your barrel's muzzle diameter?

I've been looking at this chart for thread specs. Not sure if that helps you but those are the more common specs for varying barrel diameters.

This can is a SilCo Hybrid. The muzzle on this barrel is .875 so I have a 3/4-24 adapter. Someone with stronger Google Fu than I have sent me this: https://s3.amazonaws.com/com.silencerco/support/thread-specs/rifle_thread_specs.PDF

If you can wait, it's a whole lot better to thread the barrel with your can in-hand to match to the barrel. It's a lot harder to go back afterwards to clean off a tight thread, and even worse to fix threads that are too loose.

Question ?

How much does a suppressor cut down the noise on a .223?

Is it about like the sound of an unmuffled 22 rimfire, or 22 Mag. being fired ?

Or louder than either?

Thanks! Virgil B.

Depends on the can, but generally it drops it down to the report of a un-supressed supersonic 22 rf.

The report is cut down, to what level is subjective. It's .22 level IMHO, but depends a lot on the suppressor design as well.

You'll still get the supersonic "rip/sizzle" of the bullet traveling down range.

Thanks guys!

A 22 doesn't bother my Dog, but lots of rapid fire from a .223 does.

Looks like I NEED a "can" (GRIN!)
