I compete in an online rimfire benchrest match. It's for CZ rimfire fans. The rules restrict the competitors to use of CZ .22 sporters. We shoot the USBR (Green Monster) target from 25 yards instead of the official 50 yards. This makes for shooting a 250 score very doable in spite of the factory rifles and a scope power ceiling of 9X.

I had shot 25 yard 250s with this rifle in a similar match years ago, but this game's 9 power magnification limit had been presenting me with a special challenge. But I've finally got a handle on it, last month I shot a 249 and this month —

I purchased that 452 American new in the mid-aughts, and it has had somewhere between 15,000 to 20,000 rounds fired through it. The only modification is a replacement trigger spring. The rifle has a pound and a half pull.

I box the loose SK Magazine rounds (comes is a cylinder) in these marvelous old Winchester boxes. These boxes were about the only exceptional feature of this short lived Australian WW ammo.

One very close call, but she was kissin' the ring.

Nice morning. I thought the wind would be more of an issue, but it was pretty easy to wait out the gusts and still beat the clock.

Great morning to be outside. The gods of shooting were smiling down!

I inserted a rifle like this (with the addition of a silencer) into the first chapter of my new novel, Slingshot 8. Just had to work my CZ into that book somehow.

Nice writeup, Dan. And good shooting. My 452 American is going off to CZ Custom Shop to be threaded later this week.

I love the 452's and have a couple of them. I like the 453 a little better and the 54 action Anschutz even more but you can't beat the 452 for accuracy price value..

The 452's are some form of a secret and many people are not aware of their accuracy capability.

I have one and it is wonderful and highly accurate. And the price is right compared to the high end 22's.

Any accuracy tips for the American? I've got a 455 American and so far accuracy has been good but I am always looking for ways to improve.
