Attached is pic of my new,to me, long range deer rifle for Missouri bean fields. It is a Weatherby MK V deluxe chambered for Weatherby .270 Magnum. It is fully bedded with a new bolt trued to a re set barrel. It has a Timney trigger set at 2 lbs. Total weight of about nine lbs.
First two three groups with Hornady 110 Gr. V Max were .250" and .325" at 50 yards. Should be pretty flat shooting at 3500 f.p.s
Working on some more loads now and will how they do with three shots every 15-20 minutes at 100 Yards.

I like your cartridge choice, always thought the 270 Weatherby mag would be a stellar whitetail smasher. Have you tried the 110 grain Nosler Accubond?

Not yet but I certainly will. Today I am trying the Barnes 130 Gr TSX.
What I want to end up with is a 110 gr. for coyotes. A 130 gr. for Missouri deer.
And a 160 Gr bonded bullet for wild hogs in Southern Mo. And Arkansas.
Hopefully all will be sub MOA.

I love my Arroyo 270 Weatherby. I use Rel. 19 and 130gr Accubonds. It shoots flat and hits hard. Recoil is light

It means the dealer, where I bought the rifle, dropped the bolt on a concrete floor and bent the rim slightly. They sent it to Weatherby for repair. Weatherby put a new bolt in it and the dealer picked up the tab.

Thanks. I was a bit confused about the trued part. I believe I have it now, a new bolt was installed and correct headspace was reestablished.

A 110 Vmax 3500 sounds like a bomb.

I would load 140 AB's if accurate and use for all hunting

Fwiw all my 270 WCF shot better with 150 BT's than any 130's.

110's were fast and devastating but recoil and low BC turned me off.

Nice! What is the scope you have on it?
I love my Weatherby Custom Shop Outfitter 270 WBY Mag S.S.
That my wife had made for me years back!
Plus the Custom Bolt work by Kampfeld
Cerakote and Micro Slick by Hired Gun here.
Congrats on your 270 Roy!

Amra,
I have two, both Leupolds.

Vari-x 111 4.5x14x40 mm and

Leupolds 100 year anniversary package sold in 2007 with custom made knife was a Vari-x 11 3x9x40mm.

65BR,

Thanks for the in put.

Went to the range this morning with some 130 gr loads.
67.0 gr IMR 4350/ 130 Hornady SST grouped 3/8" at 50 Yds as did the 71.0 grs R-22/ 130 gr Hornady SST.
74.0 grs Mag Pro bombed at 1.5" at 50.
All I need now is a Barnes 110 gr and 140 or 150 gr load and I will be done developing load data for a while.

If I can keep them at .500" to .750" consistently at 100 yards I am happy.

After shooting a Remington Sendero 7mm STW for five years recoil is not a problem for me.
