It's no whitetail or elk but my wife got her first moose using model 70 classic in a 280 using 150gr ballistic tip
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

All the above animals were killed with a M 70 .375 H&H SS and 270 gr Swift A-Frame.
I hope to add some like that to the 2017 Winchester kill page. Very nice!

Op- had that same M70 syn carbine 7/08 and neck shot a Mule Deer about 110 yds in CO years back w a 139 handloaded at 2850 via Varget. It was a handy fast hand handling killer! Dropped a deer on the run about the same distance in timber in La - and used a similarly FWT deluxe in 7/08 on other kills. Those carbines balanced better than M7's IMHO.

whats the story on the custom mdl 70? Pre-War Model 70, chambered in 6.5-06. Decent stick of wood.

That is a nice piece of wood. Is the 2nd rack down 36" wide, or just very close?

A bit late. Some of you might recognize the rifle.
"An archer sees how far he can be from a target and still hit it, a bowhunter sees how close he can get before he shoots." It is certainly easy to use that same line of thinking with firearms. -- Unknown
