The Ultimate Coyote Gun was going to be a 6 Dasher, but the Bat VR action was not designed to run BR cases.

The 47 is hardly a concession.....

We used to see a few 6x47s on the line at Ridgway.
When well handled they can be very competitive.
Most of the guys running them changed over to 6.5x47s for one reason.
Barrel life.
At 2000 rounds a 6.5x47 can still win a match.
Not so with the 6.
That being said I can see myself with a 6x47 vermin getter.

You continually always bring up Ridgeway, where KE plays a role and you have to knock the steel down, in addition to accuracy. A 6 Dasher is still competitive with 2K down the bore.

If consistent balls out BR accuracy was the only criteria, it's PPC for point blank, and the 6 Dasher for the rest. Everything else is a trade off.

This thread is about my #1 coyote gun.......I have it's twin in a 6.5x47.......

I bring up Ridgway because its like cartridge dog years.
40 rounds for score plus sighters will show which rounds hold up over time and which ones foul out pretty quickly.
Sitting shoulder to shoulder I see no difference in KE between a 140g in a 6.5 and a 105g in a 6mm on a -47 based case.At 1000 yards.
Noticeable difference when you run the 105 out of a Dasher.
Targets fall over MUCH slower.
My Dasher only lasted 750 rounds.Toast.
Granted it was 750 rounds of dammed fine accuracy.Very easy to tune. After 750 I could not break 50%.
BRs and Dashers do very well in decent conditions.
But at 2 oclock in the afternoon.
You'll be looking for something else.
As you said, this thread is about your #1 yote gun.
As I said.
I like it.

Baloney.....I've shot a Dasher for far too long to believe any part of this.

FYI, I set the IBS/World record six target & ten target agg records with a Dasher barrel with over 2K rounds on it running 105's at 3075, hardly a barrel saving load.

Al, I think you might need to tweak the load to eliminate some vertical <grin>

So, is the new Norma Dasher brass proving to be of good quality? As good as Lapua BR brass?

I haven't tried any at this point, as I still have a stash of gold boxed BR brass. Most reports seem to be positive. I would probably get a reamer to shoot it full length though, if so pushed.
