I took a buddy out deer hunting this weekend who'd never been hunting before. We went to the Flint Hills of Kansas and he scored on a nice 8 point!
He was amazed at the walking involved- I'm a glass and stalker.

We glassed this one up in a creek bottom, got to within 20 yards and he shot it with my Kimber Montana .308 in it's bed.

We got checked by a couple Game wardens when we got out to the road and they asked if they could take pics and post it on their Facebook page.

Thumbs up guys!! Way to go on the spot, stalk and first time shot! There are deer out on that walk in hunting; it is just putting in the perseverance to connect with them.

That's pretty cool. Just came through the Flint Hills yesterday morning - sure is pretty driving that area at sunrise.

Great work setting side your own hunting time to help a newb! More of us need to be deliberately involved in that!
