If they are like the commercial units, no one living very close will like the constant noise. Them things are loud!

Only a fugking retard would think these things had a snowball's chance in hell.
At least Seattle is only a park. These fugking idiots have littered millions of acres with these pieces of schit.

Wind power you mean like the hot air from the city council? This is great hope the tax payers show their appreciation next election.
There are no problems that cannot be resolved by the suitable application of high explosive.

They attract lighting bolts around here and burn to the ground.

They would have been a lot better off if they invested in tidal generators.

DAve Yeah, they have. The PSE wind farm in E. WA I have only seen running on the less windy days. When the wind is whipping, things are shut off.
It's about like this:
"Do you puff peters?"
"Hell no!"
"NAZI!!!"

These exist purely because of the falsehood brought to you by climate change believers. Add to it millions of dollars in grants and EPA encouragement and you've got the makings of a colossal government boondoggle. Hello pending EPA Director Scot Pruitt!!!!!!

I see them as million dollar symbols of liberal stupidity..............like those stupid rock cairns the hippies erect trailside and roadside.
They're hell on birds, they're ugly as hell, and I'm sure they're not much more than a money laundering scheme between the government and their liberal donors.
If they're a symbol of anything, they're just a huge white middle finger to everyone who knows the "green" movement is both BS and a thinly veiled Communist attempt at hamstringing industry.

A couple more points...
Because wind is so fickle and electric demand has a distinct pattern the generators are constantly being jacked around to keep pace. Generators do not like being jacked around and are responding with lots more breakdowns and required maintenance.
Now the real headshaker: Right now there are almost 150 small hydro-electric projects in SouthCentral AK... the vast majority of them on salmon streams...
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

If I recall correctly, the Chinese quit trying with wind generators a while back, after concluding that they wore out before they paid for themselves. miles
Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.

The Netherlands is investing heavily in them. A few years ago, the government quit subsidizing them to maintain the power rates at USD .19/kwh. I don't know what their power rates are now. They want to have something like 15% of their power coming from them by 2020. I believe that they have more sustained winds along their north coast than most places in the US.

Kodiak had 3 of these when I left 5 years ago, I think they have more now. Most of Kodiak Power is hydro.
