Yep My job was paying around $50 per hour for seasoned good inspectors before Obongo took office.

In his 1st 4 years it went to $35 per hour and I just seen an add for employment yesterday advertising $18 to $20 per hour.

All the time the minimum wage has went up in this crap state.

I have been out of work for 3 months and I as well as so many are not even counted on the unemployment lists any more.

We do not exist according to Ogongo's numbers.

Take away a good paying wage from people, and then make them more dependent on government welfare or subsidies, hence creating support and need for the democRAT party...

DemocRAT political success and support is mainly based on undermining the economy and increasing dependency on them to financially survive....

You use to have to be from the trades when they started this business. Welding Inspectors came from the welding trades , Concrete Inspectors from the Concrete trade and so on.

They started flooding the market with Workmans Comp. cases
before Obongo.

Now that the Old guys have grown up they get their kids in the business right out of High School And they get their friends into the trade with no experience in any trades but they have every certification you can get as they leave school.

I have watched the down hill slide of the Trade for the past 27 years.

I was a welder sick of what I was seeing in the shops of bad workmanship and was approached by a real good Politician Inspector who asked me if I wanted to be an inspector.

I told him if I could put a stop to crap like I was being forced to do then YES.

He got me started.

The kids now days are very very book smart but have no idea what the job is let alone how to do the job.

My last job
I was working on a Hospital project with 2 Inspectors of Record from the State. Three of us Special Inspectors and three Soils Techs.

I was the first full time Special Inspector to arrive on the site.

I performed several different trade inspections under the direction of the State inspectors.

Then when things picked up they brought in another inspector. His Back ground was a truck driver (No construction experience at all) he had all of his certs.

Another part time Inspector that had been thrown off the project 3 times by the state inspector before I arrived befriended the truck driver. Both of them did not know how to do their jobs in my opinion (which doesn't mean crapolla)

The kid boss that put me on the job because his buddy was constantly kicked off the job was trying to get me removed from day 1 and the State inspectors saw what was going on fought to keep me on the job and talked to me about it several times.

I told them that I was the old guy that did not fit into the Click.

Since my boss could not get me to leave the job he fired me and the State inspectors were PISSED OFF to put it lightly.

Us old inspectors that came from the trades are being pushed out for the younger so called more educated inspectors coming into the trade.

I talked to the owner of the lab I was working for several times about what was wrong with me (we went back over 20 years).

and each time he told me that I was way over qualified to do the job.

My work attitude is that the contractor has a job to do and I have a job to help them get the job done right and as fast as possible to save the owner as much headache and money as I can.

I asked a very good welder ( 1 of the Artist types) what my problem is and he told me I scare people and I said I scare people how. He said I am to smart and it scares everyone that I work with.

Well I am trying to get a teaching job through another friend that is the Artist type but it is an up hill battle.

The guy helping me get into teaching welds as good in not better that the guy with the picks at the first of this thread.

A job at $20hr is better than no job Hommie !!
