Edward FitzGerald (1809-1883) translated this 12th century poem:

Now the New Year reviving old Desires,
The thoughtful Soul to Solitude retires,
Where the white hand of Moses on the Bough
Puts out, and Jesus from the Ground suspires.

What did Jesus do ? why Moses hand is white ?

Suspire means to breathe. I doubt Moses had a white hand, as in Caucasian. It was likely brown as in middle eastern. It's nothing out of the Bible that I know of.

Exodus 4:6

KJV
And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.

New International verision
Then the LORD said, "Put your hand inside your cloak." So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, the skin was leprous --it had become as white as snow.

In the movie "The Ten Commandments", the voice of God used the KJ terminology and said "put now thine hand into thy bosom". I was a little kid when my parents took me to see that so I giggled when he said "bosom" and got a nasty look from my mom.

Oh, that one. I thought you were saying that Moses had white skin like most of us. God worked a miracle giving him leprosy momentarily. He took it away just as fast.

The real puzzle is poet lived in current country of Uzbekistan , which is now over 98% muslim.

How did he manage to learn so much about Jesus and Moses ?
there are other references in his book which makes me wonder.
in addition most of his poems sound agnostic and some don't.
he was also a mathematician , astronomer , etc..

Mohammad copied quite a bit of the Koran verbatum from the Bible. I don't know if this was part of it, but he did copy a lot about Moses.

you might be right , but the point is the poet is using Moses and Jesus in 12th century in a very conservative muslim region !

there are a few references in his book about muslims and in fact he questions a lot of things. i will post some of it when i get a chance.

The Koran is laced with references to both Moses and Jesus. However, their version of Jesus is much different than what the Bible says. Likewise, don't make the mistake of thinking that God and Allah are the same. They're complete opposites. The Koran can safely be called the devil's bible.

most likely it was put together by his companion 'salman the persian' .
unlike him Salman travelled a lot and spoke 4 languages.

do a search on Him , he most likely used moohanmad as a useful idiot
because it can be proven moohammad couldn't read or write.
