OP oldguns Campfire Regular O Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 1,053	How are things looking for Whitetail deer hunting in Alberta this season? I don't always venture out into the sub-freezing darkness, but when I do, it is deer hunting season, and I carry a Remington. Stay hungry my friends.

SamSteele Campfire Regular Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 2,829 Edmonton, Alberta	Season opens tomorrow for most areas of the province. Northern areas have opened earlier. The past winter was softer than usual, and a warm spring should help boost the young populations. We also had an early snow at the beginning of Oct so a lot of grain crops are still standing, which will help out the deer as well. That all said, 4 of the past 5 winters have been pretty hard on the deer populations. Numbers should be up this year, but I'm thinking the number of trophy animals won't be for a few more years.
