did you get another once in a lifetime SD elk tag? I can't even draw a SD deer tag.  I did, tough unit though! there's 4 types of tags, Custerstatepark,prairie,blackhillsrifle,BHarchery. mine is the prairie one, it's hard to draw and a challenge to find the elk.

Well, the extreme cold got them moving ! -32*c including wind chill Saturday morning. Was pleasure to plunge frigid hands into warm guts. It was so cold, that I couldn't get my propane heater going. Saturday mornings, doe hornless buck @ 40 yards - messy head shot. Some how I missed that deer Deb got! Congrats! Nice work filling the freezer. And congrats to you as well! Some good eating for the season now!
I did get out this weekend. Well, go out on Sunday. It was an interesting weekend here. I can't post it until the police report is finished.
I did see a doe but could only shoot bucks. I'll take it as a good sign though. That's the first deer I've ever seen while black powder hunting.
Falling into the swamp up to my crotch wasn't the highlight of the trip either but it did add some excitement! and shrinkage.

Tom, both were with my "new to me" quarter bore - 25-06 & 120gr fusions !
Buck in da face @ 45 yards, doe racking quartering to in front of onside shoulder & exit from offside flank.
It's my moose gun !
