You did well. Waidmannsheil! A nice bit of natural art to remember your hunt by. I trust you have him hanging in a place of honour.
For what it's worth, as a local I probably had a couple hundred deer in front of me at various times this fall, not one was as good as your deer. I think the same goes for a couple years before that too. It is a very special privilege when you get to put your tag on a really good one!

Thanks Jerry - being a lefty, just finding a left handed short action .308 isn't an easy task. It was a .243 youth rifle that I made into my version of a LH M7 smile
