I did pretty much the same thing with a '59 XK-150.

I probably shouldn't do this, but, for the right trading material, I might tell you where these guys are hiding, Joe.

My vintage Harleys went down the road shortly before I started seriously collecting Savages. The Savages are a lot easier to maintain. David

On one hand, you can't drive a Savage and pick up hot women with it. On the other hand, you can kill an elk with a Ferrari. (Now that would be a U-Tube video I would pay to watch!)

Been married 39 years so hot women on the Harley would be out of the question anyway. Especially in a small place like Pinedale. I wouldn't get 2 blocks without someone reporting me to the BOSS!

Not bragging (well, yes I am), but I've been married to this one for 35 years come this December 18th. Yep, HIGH maintenance..

Finally took the 99 out for a test fire. Barrel sights are always a disadvantage, but the previous owner had it set. three little almost touching holes at 50yds about 1" low, so I did my customary half gallon milk jug filled with water at 75 yards ( the distance from my tree stand to food plot), dead nuts on. Used both Federal factory 180s and my own 180gr Speer Hot Cor loads that both shoot to POI. Sweet gun. Hope a deer or a hog cooperate, but these animals are all but nocturnal, and without a scope, one has to hope for a dumb one! smile

Jorge,

Beautiful wife! Great find on the '99! A blessed man, indeed. grin

Do you handload for the .300 Savage? My neighbor just received her Dad's '99 in .300 Savage (in excellent condition!) and wants to hunt with it. We talked about me working up some loads for it for East Texas whitetails and hogs.
