yondering, i pulled some data off loaddata, and used the universal load. estimated around 1000fps. have you cast these hard, and done any penetration test? Think they would go quite a ways through things. I should add goofed up on the crimp, it was crimped to .376

RoninPhx - I haven't tried the round nose Mihec bullet. Mine is the hollow point, with a set of solid pins that make a flat nose, so a little different. I expect what you have will penetrate things well, but won't do much damage of course; should be very similar to FMJ factory ammo with that load.

Ron, Looks like it would duplicate the old AF Security Police load, 130gr FMJ ~1,000 fps. I just hope yours are more accurate the the military stuff. Ed

Ed kind of reminded me of something along those lines. tomorrow i think i will do some of the 125 grain hollowpoints. after that same project with same bullets in 9mm. it's kind of a project, that brass came from a deceased friend of mine. At one time he was a nationally ranked hi power guy, but i think he was getting kind of dizzy towards the end. These casings had cci primers put in them, but the casings hadn't been sized properly. Few had been belled, most had not. I took the pin out of the sizer and resized them, then did the rest. Interesting enough they had been sitting around like that probably since the 70's. Stuff i loaded before all went bang.

Out of curiosity, what do the pins in your 125gr mold look like? Are they a cone shape, or more gently tapering sides with a rounded tip?

Ahh, good, those are much improved over the earlier versions. I had to grind mine to that shape.
