Sure would like to find someone willing/able to put together annual Savage calendars. The rifles are out there and lots of potential photos available. Could be several varieties each year. Maybe 1895's, 1899's, 99's and so on. They would make great stocking stuffers as well as educational. Probably attract more collectors though. Tom

Hey Tom how about a swimsuit calender of all the collectors instead? Wouldn't that be sweet?

Roy, I think that may be too much of a detractor. Would be the end of Savages as we know them all over the world. Then again we would not have to worry about copy write infringements. Tom

Has anyone done a Savage calendar? I think it's a fantastic idea.

Nobody's done one, but it is an interesting idea. Awfully close to 2017 to do one now, but it's intriguing...
I've got a LOT of Fest pictures, I could probably throw something together.

A few years back, there was a fellow that came to the Chrysler's at Carlisle show. He sold T-shirts with his own original art work of A Body Barracuda's. Chrysler showed up with their lawyers and shut down every vendor that wasn't licensed by them. I heard they told him to give over all of his unlicensed inventory or the would put their lawyers on him. He has not been back. Would you need to get the permission from Savage to make them? Joe.
I still have one of his shirts!:)

I've got a LOT of Fest pictures, I could probably throw something together. Not quite so. Paul Hawyer over on Facebook, the Savage 99 Club put together a pretty nice one. All 12 months of 2017. All you have to do is copy the pages and print them out. I believe Paul is a member here as well. Here is January 2017. And here's another one on one page.

Snapfish.com will make them. They have a video narrated by a mumbly mouthed young lady who is hard to understand with my military firearms competition impaired hearing but I think I can do it. Offer me some encouragement! David

Everyone would have their own idea of what it should be, but I'd love to see a hunter snapping his Savage rifle up with a giant deer, elk, or bear jumping up in the background, like the old Savage ads but an actual photo. Or a guy unwrapping a Savage rifle for Christmas. Or finding one at a gunshow. Leaned against a tree in the woods while a hunter dresses his game. Stuff like that.

Roy has a good idea, unfortunately my game photos are after the poor old critter has bit the dust. I don't think of taking photos before the critter is on the ground. What I had in mind were pics of guns from my book or other file photos. I'm going to start looking through the book. Using photos I already have would get it done quicker. How about a 2018 calendar with hunting photos? That way the members could concentrate on having their buddies photograph them shooting at the critters. This would be a great action type calendar. There could be multiple calendars for each year. One could be as Roy mentioned, just old Savage hunting style pictures another could be more model oriented with factual information for that particular model(different model each month etc. One could be engraved rifles or calibers. The choices are almost limitless. I would certainly buy one of each if multiple calendars contained different photos and info. Tom

In looking through my book I could come up with 12 pics in chapters 2 and 3. I think that is too limited. How about 1895 to 1959? These are the favorites for most of us. I want to include John's Lewis machine gun and of course the Montreal Home Guard musket also. David

I came up with 12 months worth of pics by stopping at 1935. I'll list them and you guys tell me what you think. Jan. Figs 2-2 to 2-6, the five regular production model 1895's plus the 1895 musket. Feb. Fig. 2-12 1895 Ulrich engraving of a deer chased by a hound. Mar. Figs. 3-1 and 3-2, the five regular production introductory 1899's plus the 1899 musket Apr. Fig. 3-22 1899 grade D engraving showing the buffalo May Figs. 4-11a and 4-12 early takedown closeups June figs. 4-1 1899H, 4-5 and 4-6 model CD's, 4-17 1899 250-3000 with box. July figs. 4-19 MHG musket, 4-25 MHG bayonet, 4-29 Lewis machine gun. Aug. fig. 5-4 the 99E, 99F and 99G Sep. fig. 5-7 showing my well worn Arctic explorer Donald MacMillan's combination set. Oct. fig. 5-15, 5-16 and 5-17 showing the 7 variations of the 99H. Nov. Figs. 5-22 and 5-23 showing 99K engraving. Dec. Figs. 6-1 99R & RS, 6-6 ucncheckered EG, 6-7 Speigal Special, 6-12 99T. I could call it "40 Years of Savage 1895, 1899 and 99 Production 1895 to 1935". What do you guys think? David
