Just bought a Ruger No. 1S in .35 Whelen.

The plan was to mount a Leupold FX3 6x42 on it, but got a good buy from the classifieds on a Leupold VX-R 1.5-5x33mm Scout scope.

Anybody got some good suggestions on 30mm rings for the Ruger No. 1?

Call Ruger. They've sent me several pairs of rings at no cost...and fast shipping.

Thanks War_Eagle, I did call and they have some 30mm mediums on the way, in exchange for the 1" which came with the rifle.

I've always used lows in the past, so I'm concerned about the mounting height, but, I'll wait 'til they get here to see.

Call customer service like War Eagle said. If they wont send new ones, they may trade you 30's for yours. They have done this in the past.
