Greetings everyone. I trust we are all doing fine with our new president only 8 days away. I am writing cause a year ago or so there was a thread on tinnitus, a ringing in a persons ear. I have had it for years and seems to be getting worse. Has anyone had good results with any medication on tinnitus? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks. ihookem.

Have had it for over 50 years. Nothing helps but to just ignore it.

If I stop and think about it it's there....probably for 20 years now, gradually increasing, I guess...

If you can, lower your blood pressure. Doesn't make it go away but it reduces the volumn....

Wear plugs and muffs around noise .....

Someone in the earlier thread mentioned aspirin causing tinnitus. I quit taking a low dose aspirin each day and it went away. Sure it doesn't work in all cases, but it did in mine.

I believe one has a good chance of getting some sort of disability $$$ if desired.

Turbine engines and howitzers...

45 years and counting. Don't hear it unless I think about it or get some place real quiet.

Thanks for reminding me!

1 year in and I just try my best to ignore it. Staying hydrated, cutting back on salt helps, but it hasn't stopped for me.

PITA isn't it? Some days seem a lot worse than others. I tried the Lipo-Flavonoid, but it didn't seem to help much. Ear plugs seem to help more than anything, but I'm deaf at that point. Grin & bear it, I guess. Too much shooting without ear protection when I was younger is what I blame it on, but I'm sure there are a lot of contributing factors; chain saws, skil saws, and working in a forge shop for 35+ yrs. What's that? LOL

Learned to ignore it mostly. Now that you have brought it up, I can hear it again. Thanks!

I have taken Lipo-flavinoid for years. It keeps my tinnitus under control. Below is what I put in a thread about tinnitus back in 2010.

More recent studies show that Lipo-flavinoid is a significant help for 1/3 of those that try it. 1/3 of the people get slight improvement. And 1/3 of the people get no improvement at all.

Here is the thread:
http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/3991652/1

Here is a product that has helped me:
https://lipoflavonoid.com/content/6-about-lipo-flavonoid-plus

http://www.lipoflavonoid.com/Pages/LipoHome,

I was getting desperate and the Dr. was no help. I ran across a magazine article by a Dr. that recommended various products for various problems that he had found usefull. I was skimming the article because I didn't have any of the problems addressed until I came to Tinnitus and he recommended "Lipo-Flavonoid" by DSE Healthcare Solutions. I was skeptical, but the writer didn't sound like a quack that was being paid off. I figured it was worth a try. The writer said it would take about six weeks to see results. The bottle says to take 3 tablets a day, one after each meal, and "for best results, use for at least six months".

Well, it worked for me. After about six weeks I woke up one day and realized about 80% of the Tinnitus was gone. By the six month point about 90% was gone. Then I dropped down to two tablets a day, One morning, one night, and the relief has stayed the same. I have been taking it for over two years now.

The ingredients are several B vitamins, vitamin C, bioflavinoids and inositol, whatever those are. I found the best place to purchase these is WalMart, for $24.89 a bottle of 100 caplets. The chain drugstores that have it all charge about $30. At WalMarts it is always located pretty close to and a couple of shelves below the Centrum Silver vitamins.

I am very glad I stumbled onto someting that helped me. They even taste good. I never tried any other products, but I know this one helped me. Best of luck to all of you.
