I traded for a 99E with a broken stock a while back. I looked at Boyds and they will do a set, both stock and forearm, in "Coyote" color laminated wood for around $150.
Has anybody bought any 99 wood from Boyds and, if so, what do you think of it?
Not 99 but, I picked up a Winchester 94 stock for a 1958 from Boyds and was not happy. The but plate was already on the stock,(plastic). and all the wood was finished very nice, but it looked terrible on the old gun. Sold it on e-bay, got my money back and, repaired the old stock. Much happier.
Funny Boyds, the make so many stocks for ruger rifles but don't do one for the model 96, which I just happened to have picked inpristine condition first year of manufacture in 22 magnum. Sorta kinda a mini 99, well sorta
