I have a stainless 24" mag sporter fluted barrel in 30-06 that came off of a new Rem 700 Alaskan Ti rifle that's just sitting around. I also have a SS rem LA .473 action. I'm wondering if it's worth mailing it to Oregon for a rebore to a 12 twist 3 groove 9,3x62?

I got rid of most of my mid bores a few years ago but I have an itch for a 9,3. It would be different, a sporter stainless synthetic fluted 9,3x62. Thoughts?

I have never gone thru with a re-bore before, but many times have thought about it. I say go for it, and see what you think. There are a few places out there that seem to have good feedback on it, so worth it I would say

I've had JES do a few rebores to 338-06 (1) and 9.3.62(3). You won't be disappointed in quality or turn-around time.

I've thought about doing the very same. Well, with a M70 action. Same general idea, though!
Go for it!

Seriously, this is like a wolf asking the other wolves if he should eat the sheep. Of course you should do it!!!

He's done two 9.3s for me and some for friends as well. Success all around.
