Anyone use Dead Center bullets?

You've been busy..... around 500 posts in the past week.
I looked at your profile to see what kind of recent, prior activity you've had in the Muzzleloader room here. The answer is none.

So did you already purchase the Dead Centers? What diameter, grain size and what make & model ML?

Yes, PR Dead Center are all I use.

hanco, yes I've been using Dead Centers for years.

240 gr. 40 cal / sabot + two Tripple 7 Magnum pellets (60 gr. ea. = 120 gr.) & CCI 209 primers.

In my CVA they are very accurate.

Easy now, the power belt police, are near.

I use Magic Bullets!

LOL, you aren't the only one who noticed that.

Have some 290 gr .50 cal projectiles. Have not shot them yet. Double sabots are a bit bizarre . . .

SHouldnt need double sabots with 290's unless you are shooting a 54.

40's in a 50 have single sabot.
357's in a 50 need double.

290 grain is probably 429 or 45 caliber? No double sabot required in a 50.

I used the 250 grain Qt40's for a little bit.

Nothing long range. On targets they were maybe large fist sized groups (4-5"?) at 200 yards. At 100 they were hovering around 1.5, and at 50 its one ragged hole.

On game they worked fine for the behind the should type shot. Typical death sprint 30-60 yards if no spine hit.

I hit a smallish doe face on in the chest with one at about 30 yards and the bullet completely disintegrated inside. Only found small metallic flakes in the chest cavity.

I think I was using pyrodex back then, but i'd have to check. 80-90 grains probably.

At full price I'll pass. Buying the 'plinkers' saves a lot of $ and they, to me, seem to work the same.

I use 300 grainers in my Savage. They knock crap out of pigs. I have feeder pens around my feeders. I sometimes catch 15 to 20 in a weekend. Tons of fun to shoot them. They are good to test bullets on. I use 44 grains of 5744 powder.

You are correct. They are 195 gr .357 dia bullets (pure lead w/ a plastic tip) with a double sabot. Have not shot any yet.
