Someone asked if the serial number was stamped on the rifle. It is stamped on the right side of the receiver but you have to remove the stock to see it. Pic of serial number.
The Yankee Armorer sticky shows the serial # also.
The patent number for the 99C configuration is stamped on the right side of the receiver ring. I haven't seen this before. My earliest 99C serial # 1116xx LBC Z? doesn't have the patent # anywhere. The later 99C's have the patent # as part of the barrel address.
The word "prototype" is stamped on the buttstock under the buttplate.
The rifle is really cool. I said I was going to shoot it but the screw into the recoil lug is the only one holding the barreled action to the stock. The stock has several cracks and I don't want to risk damaging it further.
