Sort of a test of the iPhone 7plus too. I was pleased to see a reasonable bedding job on the big bore. Overall fit and finish is excellent.

another macro view.

The clear "protective" compound over the trigger adjustment popped off almost in one piece leaving a clean access to the screw. Here it is sitting on the trigger assembly.

Got it cleaned, Dyna Bore Coated, trigger down to 3# (from 4#), mag OAL is 3.630"
Rifle out of the box was 7# 10 oz.. With a 1.5-5x20 VXII held in place with Talley QR's it is now 8# 10oz..

Range pics maybe next week if the weather cooperates. I suspect it to be very accurate as were other big bore Winchesters and Kimber Talkeetnas.

bw, keep us posted on how the rifle does. I'm wondering if dyna bore coating is a good thing on a new rifle that is not broken in yet? Not to worry you, but I've had a couple friends that had the new model 70's not shoot well until they ran quite a few rounds down the tube. They copper fouled terribly and were pretty rough. Also remember erniethegunsmith makes a spring for that MOA that will make it that much sweeter. I also look forward to more pictures of the rifle and a range report. Keep us posted. Thanks...

Yes thanks for the weight info. The Alaskan is quite a bit lighter than my Safari Express. If I didn't get a good deal on it I would have chosen the Alaskan instead.

If mine is any indication you should expect excellent accuracy. I shot a four shot group with Federal blue box 270 grain factory rounds that measured around 1/2 inch. Needless to say I was pretty happy with that.

When you get the chance please post some photos of the the entire rifle.
