I was looking over everyone's dedicated turkey guns in the other thread. I saw a lot of pistol grips on the shotguns.
I'm wondering: of what benefit is a pistol grip in turkey hunting? Is it the cool factor or something more?

The ones I've fooled with make holding the gun for an extended time more comfortable and stable. For me they help with recoil on the big kickers with 3.5" cannon fodder.
When I die I hope I don't start voting democrat.

+1 to all the above, but it helps with recoil, no matter what kind of shell your shooting.
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

They are awesome for holding the gun on your knee whilst that bearded bastard is doing something unfair to you.

Agree with all the statements above.
Also keeps the thumb away from the nose for the stock cheepers.

I didn't think I'd like one until I put a Knoxx on my 20ga. It definitely helps control the gun. Plus I can hold it one hand to my side and shoot a turkey coming up from behind me. Don't ask me how I know.
