You can mount a scope on it with a mount that is advertised on Rossi-rifleman website. You can also have a gunsmith drill and tap a side mount to it.

The Rossi often needs a little bit of work when new, like disassembly- pretty easy- and cleaning and deburring to become really smooth. It can be a bit fussy about bullet shape for feeding and that little bit of 'cleaning up' usually helps a lot.

If I could find either a 357 or 45LC new Rossi at $300 it would be bought because they are a fun gun.

The Henry likely won't need any work and if you want a 41 that would surely be the way to go.

I have have had one for quite awhile. Good little saddle gun and fun to shoot.Anyone with rudiment skills can take one apart and smooth the action down although there are a few gunsmiths that specialize in it.I'd guess that running few hundred rounds thru it would do the same thing.

Mine is fussy and doesn't like semi wadcutters, but cycles 38 sp and.357 round nose flat points without a hitch.

I think I paid about $300 for mine 15 years go or so. Since they are top eject, those side mount scopes are about the only way you can go.

If scope is a requirement, you would be better off looking for an older Marlin 94 without the tang safety. The cross bolt safety models can be locked off with a simple o-ring installation in about 5 minutes. However, you are probably talking about twice the price.

When I recently tried to buy a mount from Rossi recently they were out and didn't know when they would get any more.

I searched around and found that NOE bullet molds was making one so I ordered a couple from them. They seem to be of very good quality.

http://noebulletmoulds.com/ [It is listed under scope mounts]

To the mount page:

And you can see the casting molds NOE makes also, if you choose to handload for it.
