Thinking I "need" one of these. Thoughts on pros and cons? Ring height required?

Thanks

Having played with both, I'd go 452/453 all day. The barrel-swap feature of the 455 works, but not as conveniently as I'd like. If that's a big draw for you, I'd go with a Sako Quad.

Leupold medium RF rings were perfect on my 453 with a Leupold 3-9x33 AO RF.

I have 2) 455's one .17hmr and on .22lr. The 22 is a Varmint model with the heavy barrel. Both are very accurate. The .22 has ammo preferences but even cheapo ammo shoots pretty good. About anything will shoot into 1" at 50 yards and when you find something it likes - wow. I have yet to try any of the expensive target ammo but would like to sometime soon.

I have both. The 452 shoots better, though. My 455 is an early one, and it's just now coming around to shooting well, after 6 years! but the 452 shot better than it does, straight out of the box (it was new last year).

This is with ammo out of the same boxes, so it's apples to apples comparisons, along with same/same scopes, too.

I have the WMR and HMR barrels for the 455, too, but rarely even mess with them, I have another HMR that will outshoot the 455 handily (a Marlin) and the WMR was more of a whim than anything else, it shoots "okay" but nothing special, and I'd rather use my .22 Hornet, to be honest about it.

I like both CZs, but to be fair, the 452 is, in my opinion, a better rifle.
I also bought a Ruger RAR Predator a couple of weeks ago, that is shooting right with the 452, and a fuzz better than the 455. It's a pretty fair little rifle, too, at least it's outshooting the two 77/22s I've had over the years.

I'm trying to give you honest and objective opinions, but I REALLY like that little 452.

I have 452, and have shot handled a 455. For myself the 452 is better. Look over at rimdifrecentral, lots commits.

I like the tangent sights of the 452 better, but since we are talking the American model it really comes down to what one you get a better deal on or which one has nicer walnut.

I have owned two of each. Both are excellent and all mine have shot well.

I have the 452 in 22WRM American that shoots like a target rifle! Love it!

I recently bought a 452 for a couple of reasons.
1) They're discontinued and getting scarce.
2) I prefer threaded barrels.

Rings aren't an issue. Med Leupold or Tally rings will allow bolt handle clearance for 90% of scopes.
