I'm new at this, so please bear with me & my total ignorance.

I got a complete Truglo rear sight assembly, including the base & the two necessary adjustment (elevation & windage)screws as a gift for my project --- reinstalling front & rear sights on my 30-06 Model 70.

What it did NOT include was the Williams-type long screw to bolt it down onto the barrel.

My questions are:

Can this assembly be attached with just ONE screw (there's only one mounting screw hole on the base)?

Will the Williams screw fit into the pre-drilled & tapped holes on the barrel for a rear sight?

Any & ALL help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm basically learning as I go --- which is a great way to get to know my rifle --- but these little parts are expen$ive & I'd like to avoid buying stuff that I don't need.
