Nothing for me but my 10 yr old boy drew a DC485. It was his first time putting in for permits so he was excited this morning. Hunter safety class scheduled for next month so he will be ready to go.

I have done this hunt a bunch of times over the years and have plenty of boats, including Riley's mini-boat and will get aerial information... Be happy to show you what I know. The place is a gimme for cows.

We'll have to get together this fall, I'll bring the scotch. Suspect the FIL and I will be spending some time flying the area as well.
Headed to Baku/London this next week for a month or so, otherwise I'd be back down in Homer fishing the derby with your buddy Benkert in March....

I drew 007 a few years ago and hunted it but I waited until the late season which was a mistake. Never saw a goat that trip. I anticipate this one to be a little different ;-) I just hope I don't traumatize any tourists that might be hiking around up there when I blast a majestic town goat.

You can put in up to 6 times for the same tag for most hunts. Moose is the only one that is different I believe (3 bull, 3 cow or 6 cow)

Yup, this year was a totally new game with completely new rules all the way around... So basically, if you want a specific tag, you put in for the same tag 6 times? And get 6 chances at the same tag? Been busy, thought it was business as usual...

Been busy, thought it was business as usual... Correct, apply up to 6 times and apply as many times as you like for each hunt number. Except moose are limited to 6 applications with no more than 3 bull applications.

Anyone know anything about DC590? I, along with a friend drew the non-resident only caribou tag.
I shot a couple caribou over near Aniak several years ago...but things have changed. We'll likely get a charter plane to drop us off somewhere.

I got an email with a couple of Yays. One only had a 19% success rate last year, the other was less than 1%... you are the kind of guy that pisses people off. Well he will get to hang out with half the state of Alaska for his moose hunt.. unless he's going to be hunting out by the black river country.. He will have enough company and will likely kill early... You going in with him? Not saying that where anyone's going but would love to get back into the black river and oshetna country. ..

Anyone know anything about DC590? I, along with a friend drew the non-resident only caribou tag.
I shot a couple caribou over near Aniak several years ago...but things have changed. We'll likely get a charter plane to drop us off somewhere. Don't know that area tin, but after looking at the F&G map I'd say that's a flyin for sure The draw supplement tells folks it's a fly in hunt..

I drew everything I put in for too, and it didn't cost me a nickel. I didn't get to use the last 3 tags I drew living up here, soooo....
Anytime they change things up is a good time to be putting in. Lots of Calvins out there.
That there new scheme is one $-making SOB!

Just Denali caribou for my wife and I which is fine a good easy hunt we can do with our new little girl. Ahhh... that must be why you weren't at SHOT... Thats correct...she showed up a bit early, but was due SHOT weekend so we opted not this year...likely gonna have grandma watch her next year and attend if work schedule allows for it.

My granddaughter arrived while I was in the air headed to SHOT last year. They are extremely cool, congratulations! Guessing that girl will hunt!
