Looking at a used custom 6.5-06 rifle Chimera Tactical, made by "Tactical Rifles". Owner said its the most accurate custom rifle he has ever had. Claims ~500 rounds down the tube. Says he has nearly $5000 in the build. My 2 main concerns are round count (throat condition), expected barrel life and reasonable cost for second hand custom rifle. What say you? He wants somewhere in the neighborhood of $2500 for it. 23-24" barrel. Seems a bit overpriced??

Man that's some serious coin for a used rifle, anywhere in that range. I'd probably go another route if it was me, but you know, it's every man for himself, ya know what I mean? What makes it so expensive that something like a Cooper wouldn't make more sense?

Just read the snipers hide story. Seems the gun they evaluated needed to be completely reworked. Just wonder if that is typical for rifle builder or a "one off"?

Do a little more research and then run away as fast as you can unless you plan to spend a few grand more making it right.

You should run faster, if you want to have some fun call Dave Rooney, the British carny is in charge. The majority of the builds coming out are flawed in at least one way, amazing after the court proceedings that he is still in business. I have seen and fired one of his rigs from maybe 8 years back that was very nice and shot well.
