Anyone else using them? I'm about out of them and ran out to sight a new scope in on a pair of 260ai rifles I have, one with a new 3-12 lrhs and the other wearing a SS 3-15.
I dialed in @ 100 and had 50 of these to burn up tonight so I picked on my normal 740yd target. They were boringly accurate there so I decided to see what they would do at long range. I moved to a spot where I can shoot off the hood to a bluff that had some snow still on it. I used my mildot master to determine the size was around 12-16" based on the 1309 yds the kilo gave me.
I ran the numbers with the wind holding steady @ 9.8 where I was. I felt like that was a good number to start with so I dialed up and held 2.8 mils into the wind. I missed by a fuzz. I fed it 3 mils into the wind and let it find its way......pow! Right on. I fired 5 more and they were all right in the hunt. I grabbed the other rifle, same load same dope and let it ride. It struck just slightly low. I had a harder time following the shots with the SS compared to the lrhs, but the level of accuracy available from these cheap pills is staggering.
I just bought 1k rdf's after they were successful in my 223ai and I sure hope they're as good to me as the burners have been.
I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.
