I find myself buying bigger lots of 9mm and .45

cost wise bulk online is by far the cheapest bet, but I'd just rather not get stuck with 1000 rounds of junk.

Brass casing, no steel, no old military of unknown condition.

I generally see PMC, CCI Blazer, Winchester and so forth for sale,

Any brand or manufacturer to avoid?

FedArm sells bulk, any one use this? Highland?

Anyone skeered of re-manufactured?

An online source just had PMC 230 grain .45 brass case for .22 cents shipped, who would rather reload than pay .22 cents, understand most of my brass is usually not recovered, so figure in the cost of brass.

I buy Federal American Eagle 124 gr 9mm in bulk. No issues at all.

I don't bother with re-manufactured but buying bulk of certain cartridges makes sense.

You won't have any issues.

Federal is a fairly well known name, wouldn't expect issues there.

Grabbed a new Springfield last weekend, grabbed a 100 bulk bag of .45 right away from the same gunshop, no idea of the manufacturer,

It all went bang.

Yes. Piles of it.

But never 9mm or 45 ACP.

My .223 dies are getting pretty close to the chopping block as well.

I'd stick with the names you listed (Winchester, CCI, PMC, etc.) and add Magtech, Federal and Speer.

If by Highland you mean https://www.hlammo.com, I can say that I've never shot it but a local guy shoots it and does well (he's also sponsored by them, so take it with a grain of salt).

I wouldn't shoot Freedom if it were free, I've seen too many problems with it.

TRP with half rail and adjustable sights,

Within the first 30 rounds I had made the necessary sight adjustments and was removing lots of black from the bullseye, loving it.

I would add, Remington and UMC (same) UMC is economical ammo, and Remington has brought out some bulk ammo in a more affordable green/white box.

I picked up a couple thousand rounds of PMC .38 Special dirt cheap a few years back. They shoot good.
