B & E at least 2-3 times per week for me. Waffles when the urge strikes but more often than not a simple bowl of cold cereal and coffee erases the morning fog.

Hoping to start a breakfast thread and see some pics as well. Gone are my days of coffee and a smoke.

Tomato gravy over biscuits is always a hit as well.My leftover bacon grease never sits for long and is the key ingredient for tasty TG.

You ????

Weekdays I don't usually eat breakfast. Just a couple cups of hot tea. Maybe an occasional bacon egg and cheese biscuit from McD's.

Weekends have been heavy on pancakes and waffles lately. My 3 year old loves making pancakes.

I often forgo the pancake/waffles for some eggs and left over meat from Fri or Sat night. Glass of milk and/or some tea.

today, it was venison sausage, scrambled with two eggs. Diced onions, scallions and grated cheddar, served on flour tortillas toasted in a hot cast iron skillet. Enchilada sauce on top. Yeah, it was good. smile

Good thread Denny. Thought about it myself just this morning. wink

I eat breakfast for supper but never really breakfast for breakfast. Maybe some scrambled eggs in a soft tortilla but that's about it. Don't even drink coffee.

But again nothing better than a breakfast supper!! Or a late night Waffle House spread.

I did get one of those egg mcmuffin makers for Christmas. Maybe I'll dig it out and post a review with pics!!

Thanks

Poppy seed bagel-toasted
Cream cheese
Fine sliced lemon and onion
Smoked salmon
black olives or capers
Fresh dill

I generally wash it down with red tea, lemon, and honey. Nice meal because there is really no pots and pans or cleanup.

Would love to be able to do this everyday, but alas, I fear my gout would flare !

I normally do it every second breakfast, when we are aboard a cruise.

I never ate breakfast until I retired....now it's my favorite meal of the day.
My main stay is Cheese Grits and a couple of OE eggs but I mix it up too.
Sausage and eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, huevos rancheros.
Wish Biscuits and tortillas kept better. Takes me a while to finish up a pack of Grands or a bag of tortillas.

pop left over biscuits under the broiler with some butter.

Then serve with raw honey or wild berry preserves.

I do love biscuits and sawmill gravy!!

I rarely eat breakfast and when I do it is usually a can of soup or chili. Of late, my wife bowls up plain yogurt, mixed fruit and a bit of granola for me. I am enjoying it.

That looks great Dan. Also, looks fluffy and light. How did you accomplish that?

Did you prepare in the copper pan?

Breakfast for dinner is a favorite!

Fried ham, grits, 3 or 4 eggs, and an english muffin....Or maybe scrapple with grits and eggs!

Eggs Benedict!

Oh man.....Home made strawberry jam.

If I'm camping, wash it down with a shot of tequila and a glass of OJ! Milk at the house.

MM Eggs Benedict is by far my absolute favorite. Made a version last summer that incorporated yellow and zucchini squash cakes in place of english muffins. Also, tried them with MD style crab cakes.

I could eat EB every single day and never grow tired of the dish!! We usually have mimosa's or bloody's but WTH! May have to try them with tequila.

They're also a favorite at REDSKINS tailgate events!!

Bacon or sausage,toast,jam/jelly,coffee and "fake" eggs. Once a week I'll fry up a real egg. Sometimes I'll make french toast or even hash browns instead of toast.

I stick em in the toaster oven on low for about ten minutes and then smother with sausage gravy (which I heat up in my microwave which magically came back to life:). That brings em back to life pretty well but as you know they're always better right out of the oven.

Rarely miss it. Eggs and coffee are the daily morning mainstays around here. Every couple of weeks we will throw in working on a pack of bacon out of the freezer or some fresh and smoked sausage along with the eggs. Fried potatoes also gets thrown in every couple of weeks.

Eggs come from our own free range chickens, bacon and sausage come from my own butchering then take the bacons and cut up meat to get processed at a local butcher shop.

I'm blessed to be married to a woman that has talents in the kitchen that would make Martha Stewart jealous at times. I never get tired of eating good food whether breakfast dinner or supper.

Damn , David you haven't lost your love for SC, crab cakes or squash fritters for EB, I will make that this summer when we are at PI, will gain a kitchen pass with those ideas.

Enjoy cooking a late breakfast/brunch on the weekends. Sometimes like to go out; if you have a First Watch in your area, check it out. Good stuff and breakfast/brunch till 2:30 everyday.

I had not heard of Firstwatch before. There seems to be one in Archer, which is not all that far from me. Might be worth a drive over some morning.

Weekday mornings breakfast is cold cereal, tomato juice and black coffee. Wednesday is omlette day, two eggs, sea salt, coarse ground black pepper, onion flakes and liquid somke with shredded swiss or sharp provolone cheese and hot sauce. Sunday morning is pancakes or waffles, scrambles eggs and bacon or maple sausage patties and hash browns.

Been having Shired (sp?) eggs about every morning since reading about them here!

In an oven proof bowl, crack two eggs over a chunk of diced Canadian bacon. Cover with shredded Parmesan cheese and two Tbsp. of heavy creme.

Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes, then serve with a Tbsp. of green Tabasco.

Great little "day starter"
