I bought this new in 1998 while stationed in Germany. Its a 1415-1416. Strange model name. Whats also strange to me is that it says made in West Germany. Why would that be on there when I bought it in the late 90's? My Father left me a Kimber so I'm thinking of letting this one go. What is it worth? Its like new condition wise. Box was lost in move though.

It's been a few years since dad bought his but he paid $350 for his. They probably bring more now though.

Your best bet it to look at the action sites, (Gunbroker etc) and see what they are selling for. Many will have an asking price but will not sell for that amount. Nice rifle by the way, I would guess about $900 to $1100.

Always look to see what the new ones are going for. Champion choice carry's them a lot.

Looks very much like the Savage/Anschutz Model 184. I paid $425 for that one last spring. I'd pay that again for yours.

Why would it not say "Made in West Germany" since that's where it's made?
It's a 64 action. Used value is $500-$600.

There was no West Germany when it was made in 1997. Just Germany

My son bought an Anschutz that looks just like that when stationed in Germany. Looking at the Anschutz site I found that it is a series 1416 D KL 22lr, only 1 proof stamp, bird with N under it = used since 1952 or so. D= single stage trigger, KL= folding leaf sights. Later rifles had the last 2 digits of the date made next to those marks. Ulm German made also. Paid $149 Euros for it with a scope 2 yrs ago from a German gun shop. Gun dealer said he thought it was made in the 1990s though. ***FYI series 1516 is a 22 magnum, series 1517 is a 17 HMR***
Did I make you cry......boooo hooo, life goes on.
