Now is the time to buy with end of the season sales around. Thought this would be a good place for recommending quality clothing and good sales. Curious my self on quality stuff that regulates body temp and wicks away moisture, but still keeps you warm without breaking the bank.

I hit the Military surplus store for it. I have 3 pairs of military wool pants that I had tailored to make them just right. They are light, warm and comfortable. I use good base layers of merino wool and also good wool socks. Tops are wool sweaters. I love wool and it can be light weight if you know what to get. Ibex has good stuff as well.

My outer shell layers are Goretex from the Military store as well. Take your pick of camo styles.

I really like the surplus grid fleece marshland but I haven't tried the wool. I'll have to look into them.

like fleece but mine smells after wearing a few days of hiking and sweating.. For me wool does not.
