Anyone here read his books? Looks to be at least 5 of them and the reviews look good. Thanks.

Yes, good, fascinating tales. Well written.

Spike writes a good book. I met him once upon a time when he spent the winter in my hometown writing a book. What makes his books legit is that he was there, at least for the first few. Fishing the Bering sea in the derby days when weather stopped no one.

They make you think about things if you ply the waters up here at all. And they are, in spite of the sometimes horrifying details, rather inspiring too.

I've read a couple of his books and they're great reads. Very realistic in the way he describes things. Highly recommended.

I guess it's a good thing I ordered 3 of them, already read the first one I got. Wind was howling that day and the couch invited me for an extended stay, good reading.
