Gents I inherited my grandfathers 30-06. Based on the Cruffler's page and S/N of 31xxx, this makes it a 1940. Correct?

Now. it has a William's rear peep and is missing the rear sight.
What was the correct rear sight for this period and where would I find an original?

A Winchester 22G with the .340 high slide is correct for your gun....
