Great time, great hunting, great food and a great group of Campfire guys!
This one will be hard to top but we will try. as ltppowel Pat says things evolve
Total hog tally was 60 with a couple coyotes,a fox and a Blackbuck which BTW was a damn challenging hunt and I was beginning to think I wasn't going to get one this trip
They stay out in the opened and if you tried to get close enough for a shot they were out of there at warp speed...3 blown stalks and a miss at 350 yds before I finally got it done with a 287 yd shot. I had my heart set on this specific Blackbuck as he was dark and wide.He didn't disappoint and measures a tick under 21"

cool animal!

I don't think they can be hunted in India, but sounds like they would be challenging animals, in any case.

Nice, that's the new 270, right? What bullet?

Did you bring the meat back, the one I ate was pretty tasty.

Beautiful rifle and beautiful BB. Nice to see someone who likes the capability of the 270- and admits it. wink

Very nice blackbuck, it is easy to see why you were fixated on him. They are great fun and a very interesting and beautiful animal. I think the meat is outstanding.

My experiences in Texas have always been first rate, always encountered lots of great people.

Interesting on the meat Scott, I cant' say the same from the few we've eaten. OK but nothing at all special and not as good as whitetail, and whitetail are not nearly at the top of my list... But with much meat, it can totally depend on time of the year and the diet!

Dan, hell of a good animal IMHO. You are lucky to get one that long and still fairly dark, they tend to get lighter as they age( IE get longer).

Best I've shot was 23, best I've seen is 25. Closest we've ever been was on a bow stalk, about 23 yards. When guiding the shots tended to be around 200 yards give or take generally.
