So, back in November(?) I purchased a new CZ 550 FS in 9,3x62.
Last Saturday my dad and I finally worked up a load for it, and I have to say it probably couldn't have been any easier.
We loaded up Woodleighs published max load for the 320gr RNSP, which is 62gr of RL 17.
Anyway here's the data:
320gr Woodleigh Weldcore RNSP
62gr Reloader 17
Federal Match Grade Large Rifle Primers (My dad has a billion of them)
Fire Formed Norma Cases
Muzzle Velocity: 2244
Velocity @ Chrono: 2240
Woodleigh's published velocity for load: 2240
Accuracy: <.5" at 100 yard bench, three shot group. Two shots 50% overlapped, one slightly to the side. No cool down period between shots.
Bullets are seated to the cannelure and roll crimped with the RCBS bullet seating die.
Calculated recoil energy and velocity: 46.24 ft lbs recoil, 20.26 fps recoil velocity.
Note: With the number of people who hot rod this round, I wasn't concerned about loading up published max.
