We've had some unseasonably warm weather here in SWOK the last couple weeks and it's given me the fever. One of the guys I work with caught some dang nice ones last Sunday, up to 6lbs. So I hit a couple ponds I used to fish a decade ago before I left here. Caught 4 yesterday evening after work during a nice 70 degree evening, nothing big all about 2 pounders. Today I hit a pond for 45 minutes or so and caught 11 in my first 16 casts, missed 3 in those casts too. Ended up with 18 landed and 10 missed or shook the hook. I'm remembering now how much I missed bass fishing all those years I spent up north.

Anyone else after the bucketmouths yet?

Yep, our surface temp in Central Alabama up around 60 some days. Bass been schooling on shad aggressively; caught about 50 last weekend.
Barely have had a winter here; not good for the deer hunting.

I caught four large mouths yesterday and four large bluegills to boot, of course that was in Texas and we didn't have a winter to speak of.

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

I caught another dozen largemouths this evening. Nothing of any size, pound to two or so but fun nonetheless. Strangely enough all three days I've had by far the best luck with topwater lures, even today when it was 58 with a 30mph south wind. Did catch a few on old standby Texas rigged plastics too.

I went Monday and caught a pile of fish guessing 30 bass and 20 crappie. Mostly small but I kept 10 bass, biggest was 4 lbs. They all had eggs that weren't sticky. They are close to spawning here in NE Ark. Today I went and it was slow. The ones I caught today were all males.
