Just got an email from starline Brass. Apparently they are going to be producing 6.5 Creedmoor Brass soon.

"...we’re now producing .338 Federal brass and will soon offer .243 Win, .223 Rem, .300 Blackout, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08 and .260 Rem."

I have used a lot of their pistol brass but have no experience with their rifle brass. Just glad to see another source for the Creedmoor (as well as 260 Rem.).

Good to know.

Lapua started making 6.5 Creedmoor this year too.
The Lapua brass has a small rifle primer pocket to improve accuracy.......

Just ordered pcs of Lapua 6.5 creed SR primer this afternoon. I am looking forward to seeing how a CCI 450 or Rem 7 1/2 performes in this cartridge.

Have yet to shoot this chambering yet.

Keep us apprised on how it performs for you, please. Will you be shooting long range with it or is it a hunting round for you?

Sorry to say I very seldom get the chance to shoot over 100 yards any more. Wish we had access to a range with more legs.

My experience with Lapua in other Calibers is she is second to none. I fully expect the SR primer to be a good thing. Time will tell.

Tight primer pockets clean primer ignition hole Stronger brass uniform neck wall thickness are all qualities I have come to expect from Lapua.

Midway has it in stock and on sale.

My understanding is the small primer pocket is more about improving case life with a stronger case head. The 6.5x47L guys like it for pushing hot loads; that's been one of their points against the Creedmoor in the past.

SR Primer advantages are supposed to come to light in two areas.

1.) Stronger case Head due to more material available for support.

2.) More consistent ignition that should and often does translate into improved ES and accuracy.

I expect some propellants will do better than therewith the SR primer Ignition.
