I read the write up and it says the bullet can be turned around and fired backward so that it acts as a solid. I've been shooting and reloading a many number of years and never even heard anyone ponder the benefits of seating a bullet upside down, much less advertise it. Is it just me or is that a terrible idea? The more time I spend around salesman the less surprised I am by their blatant and terrible lies. Or maybe I just havn't opened my mind enough?

With the pointed in inside the shell that would cut down quite a bit on max powder capacity. The object with solids is to clobber something big and dangerous with deep penetration. This seems counter productive. I think 5savage hit the truth with his next to last sentence. David

I'm sure I could find a good use for a 257 solid - like dispatching downed big game at close range. Just thinking, off the top of my head, maybe wild boar hunters may have other ideas.

I think I read in one of Capsticks adventures, he pulled a bullet and stuffed it back in the shell backwards, to shoot a sick/angry elephant, Joe.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

As the old saying goes: necessity is the mother of invention. Sick/Angry elephants get guys to do a lot of things they wouldn't normally do!
