I keep reading about this TSS shot and would like to know more.

Got any links?
Is it non-toxic?
Can you buy it commercially loaded?

I'm forced to use hevi shot in 4-5-6 shot sizes by federal ground and state size regs and wonder if there is better out there. Or cheaper.

Thanks in advance.

Other than that, How was the show Mrs. Lincoln?

I'd go #6 heavy shot. From what I read 7.5 TSS is not used much, #9 and #10 seems to be where it's at.

It's expensive and you can not buy it commercially loaded. I've read Nitro ammo ha started loading TSS but don't know for sure.

Do a google search. Lots of info out there on several turkey forums. Not sure if linking those sites breaks the forum rules here.

It is non-toxic.

Right now you can't buy it commercially loaded. I've heard the rumors Nitro is looking at loading some right now.

#7 shot is just as easy to purchase as #9 or #10. The ONE and only reason to use a bigger size shot that #9 or #10 would be due to state law restrictions on shot size. The smaller shot size performs well and gives better pattern density in the smaller gauges. I've broken leg and wing bones with #9.5 shot thru my 20ga at 50+ yards.

Right now I'm loading 1 5/8oz of 20ga #9.5s for $4.74/shell. Plenty cheap enough to me.

I shoot TSS #9 out of my 20ga, the 1 5/8 oz load will do 300 hits in the 10 at 40. Killed 11 long beard last year with that nasty lill stuff. No it is not a cheaper, but knowing that I had load my shells is rewarding.

Look at the reloading section on oldgobbler. Tons of info there..

I started loading tss in a couple 20s this year.
Same load as the other, 1 5/8oz.
I've seen 4 die with it so far between me and a couple buddies using my guns. One shot was fouled up but I can tell you penetration at 45 yards is not an issue.
Like mentioned before, there is reward for me in knowing that I rolled my own shells. Cost is $5ish per a shell but the reward is well worth the expense. Lots better patterns than the magblend or heavy shot out of my guns and cost is realtivly close.
