My new one was built by Nick Hughes and James Anderson doing the metal work, Jim Kobe doing the stock, and the late Tommy Kaye.
It is on a 1917 Enfield. It has extended tangs, Wiebe bottom metal, Shilen barrel, unknown 3 pos safety and trigger.
I think the guys did a wonderful job.

That looks wonderful. smile

I have a nice Bastogne blank here. Keep thinking about having a big gun built for it. A .416 or .375 keeps coming to mind.

Without a doubt the nicest 1917 Enfield I've ever seen. Can't even recognize it.

You just have to quit posting pictures of that rifle all over the Internet! It is about the nicest Enfield I've seen in all respects.

After reading retiring I'm trying really hard to stay away from things that cost a lot of money and you seem to have a very nice collection of rifles that Put evil thoughts in my head and I do have a clean Remington made 1917 that the wants to be made into something.

Save your nice Remington and find a donor

Yep, it would fit right in with this .404J Burgess Enfield.

This isn't my gun, just a photo I've had in Photobucket for some years, dating back to my .404J M-70 build.

Agree. Those guns are getting scarce.

Now, if it's been "bubba" smithed, ears ground off, etc., then a donor. If not and in good shape, ditto Butch's advice.

You can spend a LOT of money doing a full house job like that.

Just for the bucks, get a .416 Rigby CZ, if not fancy enough, get AHR to fix it up. I think that would be less expensive than what Butch did. Maybe not as pretty, but nice.

Butch, that gun is almost too pretty to take hunting...

Beautiful rifle! Looks like a serious rifle for hunting.

Are you going to scope it?
