Henry rifles don't have a cross bolt safety (Marlin), nor do they have a tang safety like a Winchester, do they have a hammer block like a H&R handi rifle, Ruger Blackhawk or something like the old Marlins where you have the half cock?
Experience is what you get, when you don't get what you want!
Henrys do not have a half cock but have a transfer bar in the hammer. From a review by the American Rifleman: "The hammer contains a transfer bar safety which prevents the rifle from firing unless the hammer is cocked and the trigger is pressed."
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
