I recently bought a rifle that has a 4200 3-9x40 on it. I don't have much experience with Bushnell scopes, anyone use this model? I have a 3200 on a 243 that has worked fine, assuming this will be as good or better.

Thanks

Can't speak to the 3-9X but sure can the 4200 4-16X40. They are fantastic! I purchased four Swarovski z5s they're gone. I purchased four Bushnell 6500 2 1/2-16X. They're gone. I purchased several other optics. The only scopes I have and really like are the 4200 4-16X and the 6500 4 1/2-30X50.

I still have a Weaver V24 6-24X42 I like but it is for sale because I no longer need it.

They are excellent for the money. I think you'll be happy with it if you give it a try.

I'm not an expert, but the 3-9x40mm 4200 That I had was very very close, if not the same as the 3-9 Conquest I replaced it with. Never had them side by side, as sold one to fund the other, but wasn't a major difference.

I had that scope; excellent, perhaps the equal of a Leupold VX II.

Great glass, but short on eye relief

Includes RainGuard, which really does work well.

The 4200 is a very useful scope if you don't need much over 3.25" of eye relief.

Thanks for the info, I may pull it off that rifle and try it out on one of my keepers.

Scope is actually a 2.5-10 x 40, not that it makes much difference.

I switched the Tasco off my .375 for the 4200 because the 3.25" is way better than 1 1/2".

Actually one of my favorite scopes and power ranges. They are real tough scopes that I've never had problems with...

I remember an article in either Rifle or Handloader, and the Elite 4200 was listed as one of the tougher scopes good for hard use rifles. I think the article may have been about custom gun maker D'arcy Echols. I think it was an article by Mule Deer.
