About the only reason to limit length to 3" is to exclude the 50BMG. Hope you all can kill them deer with your mouse guns.

Wish they would have gotten around to that before I bought the boys a rifle! At least it makes more sense now. Still only on private land and "expires" in 2020

This is great. Been watching this for the last few months. About time we came up to the 21st century. Just remember though, this is for private land only.

Yeah, but state senator told me that they will make this permanent in spring session 2020 if there aren't numerous deaths caused during hunting season.
The public land part might take another step in the process, but the end goal is to allow centerfire rifles on private and public land.

My 358 Hoosier might need a rebarrel... Lol, yeah what am I gonna do with my 358 wssm? Never even used it last year. They will still work. Were those previously allowed on public land or private only? Might be worth hanging on to if you could still use those on public land. Edit...oops, doesn't look like public land was ever open for them, sorry.

I'm gonna hang on to mine for now because there's a few special military/refuge hunts I apply for every year and I can use it there.

I think it'll be permanent on private land in 2020. Public land will take longer and may never fully see it IMO. I could see it being a property by property rule kind of like they do now with the bonus antlerless tags.

I'm the opposite. I think yes it will go permanent in 2020 but also I think public land will eventually get it too. I always said i believe Indiana is dipping its toes in the centerfire for deer waters. Slowly but surely.

Yep. But I won't do it until IN changes the rules permanently. And for public land too...

Might have to get in touch with some friends up there and drag my 358 win up. Enjoyed 6 years of hunting up there and I need to get back up there.
