Quote: I am not E but my Nikon Monarch is a bit more in the clarity and crispness than my...VX-II...Sorry..but it's true.
I'm not E either, and I'll stipulate that the Monarch is a very bright and clear scope. But in direct comparison it doesn't have the eye relief (length or flexibility) and resulting ease of use of a VX-II. Sorry, but it's true.

mathman
And i second what Mathman states on the eye relief. Fwiw my Monarch came on a little Ruger Compact i grabbed up for $375.00. I sold the rifle soon afterwards(I regret that). So in actuality the scope which was just a few months old cost me a grand total of...$50.00. And i have yet to find a Leupold tht cheap. Fwiw i do like my VX-II and would buy another.
Supposedly, Nikon has improved there eye relief this year. Whether we are openminded enough to see for ourselves and give it a fair test, is another question.
