Is this the 357 that came from the facoty with a 2x scope mounted? I recall seeing them in the late 1980s.

The Whitetailer is an 8" Trooper Mk V with a factory scope (Burris) and carrying case. The Trooper is a nice enough revolver, but the Whitetailer is somewhat collectable and the price shows it. The price is often over $1,000 with all the bells and whistles.

Another theme was the Whitetailer II, which was built on the King Cobra, the final evolution of the Trooper. Both versions were made in the latter '80's (I think).

What was the Python with the 8 inch barrel that came with 2x Leupold with the elevation turret?

The Python Hunter. Those are starting to sneak pretty close to $2,000.

I always wanted one of those.

$2K?Yikes.I'll buy a Python 8'' for $800,and slap on a used 2x Leupy for $150,plus a turret for $75.

I'll use the grand I save,to buy some other POS I don't need.....
